U12 Comets – Winners of South Leics Mini Tournament

Comets faced South Leics A in the first pool A game and showed the home side that they meant business with a 2 try to 1 win. Tom Bland had a great game scoring the opening try and Sam Bullock drove over for Comet’s second.

Game two was against a strong Lutterworth side, and Comets absorbed much of the first half pressure and managed to keep a clean sheet. The second half opened with a fine Lutterworth try, but Bland evened the scores up for the Comets . All even at the final whistle, the Comets had done enough to secure the top spot in Pool A on try difference.

Comets faced Long Buckby in the tournament final. Both sides showed promise in the first half but failed to convert the advantage. Jake Sterland turned on the after burners in the second half and took the game to Long Buckby. He was rewarded with a fine try after sustained pressure. At the final whistle, Comets were proud tournament champions due to their exemplary team spirit and due to the fact that every player stepped up and played a part in what was a fine display of rugby.
