Harborough U12's travelled to Melton to begin the defence of their county title in wet, muddy conditions. They were able to retain their impressive defensive record, having not so much as conceded a try in the previous two years and this year has so far followed suit.
First up were Oadby Wyggs. Harborough scored four tries without reply, tries scored by Jake Sterland (2), Henry Bellamy and Ewan Jones.
The second game against Oakham was a much closer affair, with the opponents having a good defence, as they had the previous season. It took a move from the training ground to beat them, Sterland scoring through a cleverly created gap in the opponent's defence to secure a one try to nil victory.
