A win that bodes well for the future

MHRUFC Sharks v Melton – U12’s 30-09-2018
The U12 Sharks hosted Melton in their first competitive fixture of the season, winning 6 tries to 5. Harborough’s 18 players were facing Melton’s full 36 player squad. The team could have been intimidated by the greater numbers, however any nerves were soon dissipated thanks to a solid defensive set leading to a turn over of possession and an early Harborough try.

The Sharks maintained pressure with excellent tackling, rucking and fluent passing leading to further scores. Harborough led at the interval by 4 tries to 2. Injuries and fatigue played their part in the second half, as the Harborough team were asked to front up to the fresh outfit of Melton.

The Sharks faced up to the challenge and, despite missing several chances in the last quarter, remained resolute, finishing the second half 3 tries to 2 down.
