U12 Panthers Joules Cup report

Olney v MHRUFC Panthers– U12’s 14-10-2018
Panthers played away at a very wet Olney. The opposition were a big squad of size and numbers of 35, so lots of fresh legs for the opposition available. Panthers had reduced numbers of just 15 to match due to half term and some injuries. However, they were a strong, disciplined team with spirit the whole group should come away proud of how they performed.

Olney scored first try with lots of fast moves on the ball, and very quick in the rucks. Louis Small had some early great catches, runs and nice side steps in this first half. Olney finished the half with 5 on the score sheet and MH Panthers showed good team resource matching this Olney “A” side with a credible 3 to match.

Second half Olney came out with a huge number of fresh legs against semi tired cold & wet MH side. The final score line did not reflect how well MH Panthers played the 2nd half. For example MH scored a try in this half, Olnley did not. This is how well the boys did after the team talk, & the game finally finished 4-5 to Olney. MH Panthers were very unlucky not to have a draw at least here.

Again, a great (wet) game to watch, so much great play mid field done before the person who puts the ball down to count. George Stankovic was unlucky not to score in the 2nd half and made some huge tackles. Jude Smith was, as he has been the last three games this season like a bulldozer of strength simply ploughing through players with great offloads where it’s needed to make this and the previous Panthers results matter.
Great team play…. Keep your heads up boys as you were unlucky not to have a won here today. Special thanks to parents and supporters on this again long trip for Panthers in horrid conditions.
