U12 Sharks v Broadstreet

The U12 Sharks travelled to Broadstreet this weekend, looking to exact revenge after a narrow defeat at home to the Coventry side in the early part of this season. The game was played as 4 ten minute quarters, allowing time to organise substitutions.

The Sharks were aware of the strength of oppositions pack and were prepared for the battle up front. The first quarter was a very tight affair with both defences on top from the off. The Sharks had, what seemed a legitimate try, disallowed in the first 2 minutes, however from then on, there was little to separate the two sides with resolute tackling by the Sharks forwards and backs, as well as from Broadstreet.

The second quarter brought with it a change of tactics, with The Sharks looking to play a far more expansive brand of rugby. The consistent use of width made the difference with the away side scoring 3 unanswered tries by their back line. More of the same followed in the third quarter, with the forwards winning quick ball and the 9 and 10 spreading the ball wide quickly. Three more unanswered tries put the game beyond Broadstreet. The final quarter was a chance for the Sharks to experiment with players playing in alternative positions. Broadstreet mounted a spirited come back scoring 3 tries to the Sharks 1 try, however the final result was never in doubt. Final score:- Broadstreet u 12’s 3, Market Harborough U12 Sharks 7
A fantastic performance by all the squad who enjoyed their Sunday morning trip down the M6! A great start to 2019!
