U12s v Old Laurentians

MHRUFC Panthers – Old Laurentians – U12’s 27-01-2019
The U12 Panthers travelled to Old Laurentians in Rugby with a squad of 17 keen players. They arrived at a very windy and bitterly wintery cold ground where the pitch looked heavy.

Due to the biting cold wind it was agreed two short games would be played of just 10 mins each way. Panthers soon showed that these conditions do not phase them and quickly took control of the game scoring the first try with a string of others to follow. The ball, like the players was soon caked in mud, so some ball handling errors were to be made, which was understandable given the state of the pitch. But Panthers made fewer errors than the oppositions and made better use of the opportunities presented to them.

Strong crunching tackles in the cold, great rucking and a number of fluid play down the line to the wingers on a number of occasions lead to a great game to watch and one of the highlights for Drahm Plant was a blasting try over the line through to a battered defense.

Good but cold morning of Rugby with a heavy pitch, and a very solid result.
