U12s v Old Coventrians

MHRUFC Panthers – Old Coventrians – U12’s 24-02-2019
This week the U12 Panthers traveled to Old Coventrians on a very foggy morning, reasonable distance with 18 of the team attending, a show of real commitment.

Two games were played as the fog disappeared to a glorious warm sunny morning. The opposition were a well-trained unit frequently passing the ball down the line and out wide. The game was gripping and close, both teams defended well, the game was physical and virtually end to end with only one try being scored in the first half by Market Harborough.

After alternating players who didn’t play in the first half, a good tactical team talk by the coach the second half started with both teams beginning strong and willing. The opponent appeared to have the upper hand at first, rucking far better than Market Harborough at times, but did make a number of ball handling errors. The Panthers proved they were the better side with more turn over’s and scoring a further two try’s in this half to finish the game 0-3 to Market Harborough.

Second game kicked off after further player rotations, and the Panthers continued where they left off, scoring one try in the first half and a further two in the second half with one using the entire team to execute the try. Really thrilling to watch.
