Mischiefs & Rascals v Syston

Rascals had only 8 today Tyler, Dom, Giaan, Patrick, Sam Bullock, David Stribling, Sam Bills, Francis Hunt and they borrowed Tom England from Mischiefs.

They played 3 games against the Syston sides who mixed their sides up

Game 1 Won 5-4

In very poor and extremely muddy conditions the Rascals started well with Tom England winning the ball and releasing Tyler Smith to run in from the half way line to open the scoring. Syston soon levelled only for Sam Bullock to win the ball and offload to Tyler Smith to score the his second try. Once again Syston slipped through some attempted tackles to level the scores. Rascals battled hard to gain domination in the scrum and Giann Mann fed Dom Alston who completely reversed the angle of attack and caught Syston unaware and ran in over in the far corner to leave Rascals leading 3-2 at half time. The second half mirrored the first with Syston levelling once again, only for Tyler Smith to complete his hat trick with a trademark mazy run and score in the corner. Syston continued to come back and got back to 4-4 only for Patrick Bairstow to run virtually the full length of the pitch to score the winning try.

Game 2 Lost 2-4

A very physical Syston side overpowered the battling Rascals in the second game and quickly went into a 2-0 lead. Tyler Smith took the ball off newcomer Francis Hunt to run in a try just before half time to leave to score at 1-2. Syston dominated the second half and despite some brilliant tackling from Giaan Mann and Sam Bullock in particular, they opened up a 4-1 lead with Tyler Smith running in a consolation try at the end to leave the score at 2-4 at the end.

Game 3 Won 4-1

The Rascals had by now played a lot of rugby in awful conditions but were determined to win their final match and went into an early lead when David Stribling won the ball at the ruck and fed Tyler Smith to open the scoring. Tyler Smith scored again shortly after to open up a 2-0 lead only for Syston to get the next score. With Sam Bills now getting into the game Rascals took a 3-2 lead after Dom Alston saw an opening and passed to Patrick Bairstow who finished well. The team were now well on top and after a committed ruck from the whole side Tyler Smith broke clear only to be stopped just short of the line and Dom Alston was on hand to go over to see the game finish 4-1.
