By 10am the snow had covered the pitch and erased all pitch markings leaving only a blanket of the white stuff to play on. The sides elected to play a touch game to "warm-up" and despite the worsening conditions there was some fine passing and rugby skills on display from the visitors and Long Buckby alike. The coaches and brave supporters huddled together on the touch line and cheered every forward run and try regardless of which direction the play was going. By the middle of the second half it was becoming difficult to tell the teams apart as the snow had started to cover scrum caps and shirts. It was a fine game played in good spirit and both teams left the field to the loudest three cheers of the season. Well done to all for turning up and giving it a go.
