The U11 Comets faced Oadby Wyggs at home this Sunday and secured three wins from three.

MH Comets 3 – Oadby 2
In the first match Oadby opened the scoring but the Harborough forwards applied continued pressure, Shea Harley finally diving through a gap to score. Jake Sterland was then on the score sheet after a run from the half way line. Luke Ainsworth rounded off the first half by flying down the wing to score the Comet’s third try. Oadby came back at Harborough in the second half but great tackling from Harley and Archie Gibbs kept them at bay. Will Salvesen was unlucky after zooming along the touch line only to be bundled into touch with a yard to go to the Oadby line. The visitors scored in last seconds of the game after prolonged pressure on the Comets defence.

MH Comets 4 – Oadby 2
Oadby opened the scoring again in the second game but Sterland couldn’t be stopped from scoring two tries and showing the determination that gained him the player of the day award. Oadby replied to even the scores by the half time whistle. In the second half Ainsworth scored from another solo run down the wing and the fourth Comets try from Joseph Stamp sealed the victory for the home side.

MH Comets 2 – Oadby 0
There was only time to play one half but Harborough Comets won the final game with tries from Thomas Kemp (on temporary loan from the Meteors) and another excellent try from Stamp.
