Oundle v U11 Rockets

The U11 Rockets visited Oundle RUFC on Sunday and played three games against them

In the first game, Rockets started well and had Oundle on the back-foot from the first whistle. Tyler Smith had a dashing run through the Oundle defence for his 1st try. Good pressure from Rockets continued through the rest of the first half, with a dominant scrum led to half-time score of 0-1 to Rockets.

Second half started with a good maul from the received kick-off which was secured by Rockets. Great off-loading by Frank Hunt, Tom Stockley & Daniel Priestly gained territorial advantage for the Rockets. After further strong play deep into the Oundle half, Tyler scored the second try of the match in the dying second with the game finishing Oundle 0 - 2 Rockets. After a quick debrief, the second game began with another strong start from Rockets, with more powerful play from the dominant Harborough side. Oundle saw more of the game than in the first game and the first half ended at 0-0. A neat piece of passing at the start of the 2nd half gave Zack Green the ball deep into the Harborough half. His strong run down the line saw the first score of the 2nd game. From the restart, Oundle secured the ball and picked up their first score of the morning. This seemed to fire up the Rockets and another darting run by Henry Joules on the last play of the match resulted in a final score of Oundle 1 - 2 Rockets. There was a scrappy start to the 3rd game with both sides showing signs of fatigue. Harborough pushed deep into the Oundle half only to see the ball moved back to the opposite end. The untidy play from both teams saw a half-time score of 0-0. A stronger start to the second half saw Tyler's 3rd try of the day. From the restart more good play from the Rockets saw Daniel Priestly get his name on the score sheet. Rockets finished the game strongly with Oundle saving a try from Henry Joule with a push-out into touch 2 metres from the line. The game finished Oundle 0 - 2 Rockets.
