Comets came back this weekend with two stunning performances against Peterborough Lions

Game 1: Lions 0 - MH Comets 4

Comets were determined to start well against Lions and did so by dominating up front with Sam Bullock, Shea Harley and Matthew Liddle being especially aggressive and tackling well. The first score came from an Ethan Hodges run and clever offload to Jake Sterland who finished in typical style. Will Salvesen was a constant threat at the breakdown and he offloaded to Ethan who went over for the second try before half time.

Comets continued to dominate in the second half and Joe Stamp was very strong in the ruck area enjoying his time in the forwards and Joe Williams had a couple of excellent runs that nearly resulted in tries. The forwards managed a quick ball from a ruck and Jake Sterland picked up the ball and finished for Harborough's 3rd try. From the restart Jake then caught the ball and ran the whole length of the pitch for his hat trick and the final score of the game.

Game 2: Lions 0 - MH Comets 4

In the second game Connor Byrne showed up well in the scrum and he forced a turnover which allowed Will Salvesen to score from close range. An excellent tackle from Barnaby Smith also saw the Comets get a turnover and Dom Alston managed to get the ball out to Jake Sterland who ran from deep in his own half and unselfishly passed for Luke Ainsworth to score in the corner.

In the second half, Will Salvesen again went over after the forwards gave him some huge assistance. Charlie Latham had a couple of good runs and the backs got the ball out to Sam Bills who made some good ground. The final score of the game was from Jake Sterland who again caught a restart and ran the length of the pitch for another typical score.

Player of the week was Ethan Hodges who battled hard in the tackles in both games and ran straight making up precious ground when Comets were under pressure.
