Comets were up against Loughborough B to start the day’s games. There was some aggressive rucking by the Harborough forwards with Sam Bullock pushing Loughborough back. Comets were rewarded for their efforts with a first half try from Ethan Hodges following sustained pressure.

Loughborough opened the second half and quickly evened the scores. Comets then counter attacked, were rewarded with a scrum 10 metres out, and Will Salvesen drove over to gain the lead for the home side. A lucky break from Loughborough resulted in a try and the game ended in a 2 all draw.

Loughborough put out their best team for the second encounter of the day. Comets played well but superior play from Loughborough gave them a two try to nil lead at half time. More pressure followed in the second half and Comets conceded four more. Unfortunately, the score line did not reflect the team spirit of the Comets and the effort that they put into the game.
