Leicester Forest v U11 Meteors

The Meteors customary slow start to the game was such that they were soundly beaten in the first match of the year. the Leicester Forest turf thawed out under the weak winter sunshine as temperatures hovered just above freezing and the hosts ran riot for a comprehensive win.
In the second match however fortunes were reversed and with Gregor. Montgomerie having his best game and making strong probing runs, it wasn't long before Thomas Kemp and. George Hallam combined and a pair of tries each was just reward for a 4:0 half time lead.
In the second half, Forest pulled one back but then Harry Fordham used his strength to power through to restore the gap.
Forest did add one more but honours went to the Meteors.
Both matches were played in good spirits by both teams. Forest had some big strong players and one particularly quick back but meteors also showed they could play. Patrick Bairstow made some good runs, Toby. Fletcher also had one of his best games but. Montgomerie was player of the week.
