A win against Vipers, two draws (Mkt Bosworth and Broad Street) and two narrow defeats against Oadby and the festival hosts Nuneaton, does not do justice to the way the team battled and performed on the day. There were fine performances from Jake Sterland (8 try’s), Joseph Stamp (3 try’s), Shea Harley (2 try’s and player of the week), and one try a piece for Sam Bullock, Tom Bland and Tom England.
Other notable performances came from Joseph Williams, Connor Byrne, Matthew Liddle, and Ethan Hodges – each showing their best skills on the day. Sometimes the unsung heroes don’t get mentioned, but this week the following players stepped up, took some hard hits and showed what they were made of – these players were Barnaby Smith, David Stribling, Luke Ainsworth, Sam Bills and Sam Halls.
Honestly, this was the best that the coaches have ever seen the Comets play, they worked as team,d showed true grit and sheer determination to fight for the pride of the club. Well done lads!
