Market Harborough v South Leicester

The Hurricanes travelled to South Leicester rugby cub to contest the first tournament of the season.
On a fresh but bright morning the kids were keen to show what they were capable of so early on in the season, with the format of the day being one pool consisting of four teams and winner takes all result. Our first game was up against Long Buckby B who proved to be an excellent test, our team battled hard and took an early lead through some great passing which was soon capitalised on by an excellent run from George H to put us 2-0 up.
Long Buckby upped their game in the second half and we eventually ran out 3-2 winners with Isaac making a try saving tackle to keep us ahead. We then faced the Long Buckby A team which was clearly a stronger outfit, we approached the game with the same style of free passing as the first. Our defence has a momentary lapse of concentration which allowed Long Buck to score however, the lads rallied and we got right back into before half time with a try from our old stalwart George T.
The second half was a great battle but Long Buckby proved too strong in the end and we ended up losing 1-2.
The last game was against a newly formed S.Leics team who had only been together for 3 weeks; our boys showed the same level of tenacious game play and ran out comfortable 3-0 winners meaning we came runners up in the tournament but no cigar.
