4 Try Bonus Point Win

Although the temperature never reached the dizzy height of a few weeks ago, a warm sunny afternoon greeted the players at Wellingborough's Cut Throat Lane.

Harborough had to make 7 changes from the previous week and the players who stepped into the team put in a great shift. Although some passages of play were affected by a lack of continuity, Harborough put together enough clinical moves to keep ahead of the home team.

Good lineout play from Henry Moss kept a good supply of ball to the Harborough backs. The effervescent and consistently strong Jack Burrows kept Harborough driving into the big Wellingborough forwards.

All through the game the visitors put in some tremendous defensive work, making tackle after tackle. With Monty Maule controlling the game from 10, Harborough backs were just too quick for Wellingborough defenders. Tries came from Tom Clarke, Will Marriot and Olly Dawson with two conversions from Monty Maule. Tom Windibank crossed the try line to represent the 'front eight' on the scoreboard.

Head coach Joe Hill commented 'With so many changes, we could have folded against a strong Wellingborough side. However credit to the lads who stepped in, they met the opposition head on. It's a credit to their character and the depth of the squads'.

Next week sees Peterborough visit Northampton Road and the pre-match Ladies Day lunch only has a few tickets remaining. It should be a grand afternoon!
