One More Time

A scoreline of 53 – 12 to Harborough showed the strength of the squad.

The game took a while to build up a head of steam, Cameron Jordan showing the way with a powerful drive from a line out, but both teams seemed like they might be looking forward to Christmas!

Max Dalby scored first for Harborough with a trademark bulldozing run from the base of a ruck. But Syston showed some strength of their own with a fine try to bring the score back to 5 – 5. Jordan put Harborough in front again with his own drive for the line, and they never really looked back.

Dalby bagged another with a powerful run and Keiran Silcott made the most of a loose ball from Syston, hacking forward and gathering to scamper over the whitewash. Harborough were 20 – 5 up at the break.

Dalby was involved in the next score too, again with a powerful run before offloading to Harry Grimmett to score. Grimmett scored next, with a pick up from the base of a scrum and a tremendous drive to force his way over.

Alejandro Scott made the most of a ball won at the ruck in the centre of the field and set off at pace for the try line, comfortably evading the attempts at covering tackles. Grimmett completed his hat trick with another try, before some fumbling defence allowed Syston in for another of their own.

Will Hallam rounded off an excellent all round performance with a try under the posts, converting to make the final score 53 – 12. Joe Cleaver, too, deserves a special mention for a triple tackle it what seemed like a matter of seconds. We could do with more vim and vigour, but it was a good result for Harborough to keep them on their winning streak.
