After a series of games in the road Market Harborough RFC u15s found themselves facing familiar opposition in the form of Leicester Forest at Home.
A bright day caught many unawares with a biting breeze and it definitely made supporting on the sidelines a challenge.
From the first whistle Harborough exerted good pressure causing errors from the visitors but after 10 mins Forest found width and the try line. The wind conditions meant this game was definitely not going to make converting easily.
Harborough came back quickly with an excellent kick off but they couldn’t finish it off and Forest escaped.
The conditions affected the game significantly with neither team mastering the wind and the rest of the half was equal for both teams; until just before half time Forest pounced and scored again.
The half time whistle blew with the score 0-10.
The second half saw Harborough come out with more intensity especially from the forwards.
Overall play was very equal between the sides for the whole second half. An excellent try saving tackle by Potts saved what looked like the only chance of the deadlock being broken throughout the whole 30 minutes.
With the last play of the game though Forest suddenly put a passing passage of play together which broke the line and scored their third try.
The final whistle blew at 0-15.
A great game played by the squad and it should be noted that our results against Forest this season have shown our development as a squad over the past 5 months and this was the best yet.
