One team hosted Loughborough RFC and we thank them for the loan of a player after one player was not fit to player on the morning.
The game overall was marred by unusual handling mistakes and this let Loughborough get over the try line four times before Harborough managed to breach the line twice through Carvell and Beech of which one was successfully converted by Sterling. The final whistle blew with the score being 12-22.
The second team hosted Kettering RFC. This game too displayed scrappy play with a plethora of knock on’s by both sides.
An early penalty kick by van Amersfoort saw MH take the lead.
It was a very physical game and despite playing the last few minutes of the first half with only 14 Harborough closed the first half with Foxon scoring from a team rolling maul, converted by Van Amersfoort.
Much of the second half was played in mid field, with neither team adding any points in the half and the final whistle blew with the score 10-0
Thank you to Loughborough and Kettering for fantastic contests between our two teams.
