In very cold conditions Harborough travelled over to Kettering.
The game was split into thirds and the first third saw a determined Kettering team take an early lead as Harborough struggled to find their feet and connect their passes. A second try saw Kettering lead after the first third 10v0. Chat at the break saw the team starting to put together some good play, rucks were now being cleared so the ball could be moved quickly. A strong break from Elliott G saw him rewarded with a try. This was quickly followed up by a long range try from Ryan M to bring the scores level. However a score from Kettering after a couple of mistakes saw them retake the lead. But just before the next break a quick tap pen saw debutant Youseff drive over from 5 yards bringing the scores level again.
The start of the last third saw Youseff make a break from halfway, he burst through a couple of tackles before accelerating to score a try to give Harborough the lead. Caleb quickly backed this up with another try after a powerful run. And finally Elliott topped the score off with his third. A final effort from Kettering saw them respond but Harborough ended up winners 30 points to 20.
A huge well done to all the lads that played today and the support given from the sidelines. Too many positives to mention but they all dug in when going two tries behind and started to put into action all their work from training!!
