The U13s this week were left without a fixture until they were invited for an intra-club friendly with their training colleagues
From the off it was very even contest between the two sides with the Blues showing some strength at the scrum and breakdown. However, poor handling gave the Reds ample opportunity to seize their chances for an opening try by Sam Grameslaw who, after receiving a beautifully timed pass from Ross Primrose, delivered a blistering run from the halfway line and scoring beneath the posts. This was successfully converted by Thomas Mercer.
Despite a series of attempted penetrations by the Blues and some impressive running lines by the backs into their opponents half, the Reds defence proved too strong on the day. Again, spilled ball seized by Henry Povoas left the Reds with significant territorial gain. A powerful drive to the posts by James Melody supported by Reds forwards left Scott Dean with a simple finish to secure the second and final try of the game. Again, a successful conversion by Thomas Mercer brought the final score to 14-0 to the reds.
