All Blacks v Lutts and v All Blacks

The All Blacks split into two squads again this week. Ben & Steve worked with the side on defensive drills and this was put on show in the first game against Lutts with the sides going into the break at 3-3 with the All Blacks forcing a couple of turnovers with the rush defence. Lutts changed tactics in the second half with players running from deep at pace and breaking through the well organised defence to gain a couple of quick scores, the All Blacks came back well but they were always playing catch up rugby and it finished 9-5.

They then went on to play in the much anticipated All Blacks v All Blacks game and what a game! Both sides were determined not to give an inch and neither were the very vocal parents!! Nothing like playing their peers to bring the best out of the players. The off loading, support, tackling and handing was some of the best I've seen this season. The sides went into the break at 4-3 to the "bibs" the second half saw the non bibs fall out with the open side of the pitch determined to hug the blindside and squander the space by running into touch the game finished the bibs 9-7 winners in exciting finally.
