Tries aplenty

The two All Blacks squads traveled over to Olney to enjoy a morning of free flowing high scoring rugby.

Squad 1 - Edward, Jude, Will, Jacob (JJ), Jacob S, Archie, Cam S, Gray.

Squad 2 - Woody, Harry, Thomas, Cam M, Jamie,

Squad 1 game 1 - Playing with real intent they managed 3 turnovers due to the 7 tackle rule. Some slippery running and great off loading meant they edged ahead only for Olney to come back and counter going in ahead at the break. The second half saw Harb start slowly with Olney managing to score unanswered tries, Harb rallied late on but couldn't overturn the lead with the game finishing 13-7. Special mentions to Jacob S a welcome addition to the side who showed great strength in both attack and defence, JJ for his usual intelligent running lines, Capt. Tippo for his solid defence, Will for some brilliant runs, Edward showing true grit and soldering on when injured, Gray for his uncanny skill of finding a gap where nobody else could, Cam for great work in defence and Archie for his try saving tackle to end the match.

Squad 1 game 2 - And what a game! 11-8 at half time the game finished 19-14 , 33 tries scored in 30 mins the pace, skills and fluidity of this game was the best seen all season. The squad may have came away with two losses but the way in which they are playing is really developing and allowing confidence to build.

Squad 2 game 1 - A real close affair with the game ending 13-9 the handling and tackling went up a notch this week, the players are really gelling and the support play was outstanding.

Squad 2 game 2 - The squad continued where they left off with the support and off load game working well leading to a 15-12 win. The first up defence continues to improve week on week, on a narrow pitch the spaces found in attack showed real vision. Great display and well played all.

The Olney coaches and parents were blown away with the Harborough off loading game, on numerous occasions the referee was unable to call "tackle" as either just before or at the point of contact the players looked to keep the ball alive and ship it on to close support players. All the training covering off loads is paying dividends. Well done all.
