U9 Tigers have the Blues

Game 1: MH 3 Bedford 2. (Fergus Gilligan 3)
A great game of rugby.
Both teams were committed in their tackling and ran well with ball in hand.
The Bedford coaches had high expectations before kick off and were surprised at how well we defended against their straight running. Our defence held strong with Ollie Crocker and Marcus Krause showing the benefits of a good breakfast as they tackled their socks off. The offloading was again a key aspect of the game with George Hutchinson and Jake Dowling finding space and linking up with their support. Fergus Gilligan supported well and with ball in hand then turned on the afterburners and scored all of our three tries out wide.
Game 2: MH 4 Bedford 1 (Jake Dowling 2, Cameron Douglas 1, George Hutchinson 1)
We found our space out wide and passed away from a very crowded centre of the field. George H and Cameron D ran hard to break through tackles to score and quick thinking saw Jake Dowling steal an intercept to score a great opportunistic try.
Game 3: MH 4 Bedford 1 (Jake Dowling 1, Marcus Krause 1, George Hutchinson 1, Seb Fernandes-Smith 1)
Game 4: MH 8 Bedford 3 (Seb Fernandes-Smith 3, Fergus Gilligan 2, Jake Dowling 1, Lawrence Pugh 2)
This was a game of two halves!! After the first half it was 2-2 with both teams playing it tight and tackling well. However following the break MH turned up the heat. Seb FS ran strongly dragging players with him and Max Gent threw himself around the pitch with an impressive tackle count. Fergus G once again found space out wide and Lawrence P ran with renewed confidence to touchdown in the corners.
Game 5: MH 6 Bedford 1 (Seb Fernandes-Smith 1, Jake Dowling 1, Ollie Crocker 1, Lawrence Pugh 1, Corey Henson 1)
More of the same, good tackling and great communication. The team are gelling and supporting each other well.
