Hurricanes too strong for Syston & Ashby

The Hurricanes went to Syston for a Triangular fixture. Game 1 against Ashby kicked off well with some much better passing from the Hurricanes using the full width of the pitch. It was 5v0 to the Hurricanes at half time. Ashby fought back hard in the second half but just could not break the Hurricanes strong defensive line. The game finished 7v0 to the Hurricanes.
Time for some more training and a team talk now as the Mammoths played.
Next the Hurricanes went up against Syston 2. The referee agreed to really go hard on the Hurricanes to sharpen up their game and make them do everything strictly by the book and it took the boys a couple of minutes to realise that they had to up their game again but after the first try by Simo was eventually put down there was no stopping them once again.

With some excellent jinky runs from George, some casual long jogs from James, some shoving players half way down the pitch from Adam and fantastic support from all the others the tries came in thick and fast. Jack was his usual tackling machine and Will and Fred held that great line in defence and attack. Eventually Syston asked if they could add players to their team to help and we took a frustrated and shattered Leo off for a breather but even that couldn’t stop us in our tracks. The game finished 8v0 to the Hurricanes.

More tough training and team talk whilst the Mammoths played their final game and The Hurricanes played their final game against Syston 1. They had some big and fast players could the Hurricanes keep up their form?
Oh yes. Adam soon got us a turnover ball and we were away. With some lovely tries from Will, George and Adam. The boys were at their best. You could see them begin to really think about their play. They looked around and made great decisions about the best next move. The training on “crash play” really showed too. The defensive line was formidable and Syston just could not break through. We got turnover ball after turnover ball from great “snaffling” or 7 strong tackles in a row.We finished the day with another 8v0 victory and not a single try conceded in the 3 games.

Well done Hurricanes!
