U9 v Ashby & Stoneygate

The first game after Christmas saw the U9 Menaces play Stoneygate and Ashby at home in a triangular. First up were Stoneygate. It was a tight first half in which Stoneygate took the the lead by 2 tries. In the second half Max Fletcher ran through to score, soon followed by Joshua Brambini Meadows to level the scores. A great dummy pass allowed Charlie Cowley to score, followed by a great try by Edward Bradnam to score which despite another for Stoneygate saw Menaces win 4-3

In the second game against Ashby, Bradnam opened the score followed by a great pick up by Fletcher to score. He then added his second shortly afterwards. This was followed by a great pass allowing Fletcher to again capitalise and run through to score. Another fine move again saw Fletcher score his fourth try of the match. The visitors were also scoring freely but not enough to draw level. Bradnam completed the scoring making the score 6-4 to the Menaces.

The final game of the morning saw the Menaces played another Ashby side. Opening the score sheet with a mazey run was Fletcher again, followed by a great try for Ned Bellamy. Bradnam then made his way through the defensive line to score. Charlie Cowley made a great run and scored in the corner. A powerful run through by Fletcher saw him score the second of the match, his 7th of the day thanks to a great turn over ball by Callum Jones enabling him to score. Bellamy finished off the morning with a final try. A great morning of rugby with the Menaces winning the final game 7-3
