U9 at South Leicester festival

Mischiefs report
Having "won" the toss and the poisoned chalice of being the Harborough A team, Mischiefs faced the hosts South Leicester, winning 6-2. After a great start, with Barney Walsh flying in for two tries, all nearly went wrong when South hit back but the Mischiefs hit a higher gear to run out winners. Lutterworth A were next and a close hard fought game finished 3-3, thus Mischiefs had to be beat Long Buckby A in the final group match to be in the final. Even though all tried hard, tackled well, and tried to run straight, Long Buckby, who were very well rehearsed and drilled, won 2-0 and Mischiefs missed out on a final wiiner take all place against the Rogues. Long Buckby in fact conceded no tries in all their 3 group matches, a very good achievement for so early in the season. However for the Mischiefs plenty of promise was in evidence and once used to the vagaries of this almost new type of game, i.e. contact, they will undoubtedly have more successful days in the future.

Rogues:
First two matches the Rogues had good wins against Belgrave 9 – 0 and Lutterworth B 10 – 1. The match to decide who went through to the final was against Long Buckby B and the Rogues won 6 – 1.
The final was a toughly fought match against Long Buckby A, Long Buckby scored the first two tries and then Oliver B scored just before half time. Second half Long Buckby scored again then Harry went over the line for the Rogues making it 2 – 3. The last 2 minutes was intense but when the final whistle blew Long Buckby had won 2-3.
