Tags blowing in the wind, Menaces and Rogues entertained their Northamptonshire visitors

The Menaces under 7’s hosted Kettering and old Northamptonian's (ON’S).
Menaces were split into 2 teams. Toby Christison, Carys Hamilton, Joshua Brambini-Meadows and Max Fletcher were in one team and their first game against Kettering saw a well fought draw at 8-8 with hat-tricks from Fletcher and Hamilton. Christison managed to score despite some man handling from the opposition followed by a great run from Hamilton passing to Brambini–Meadows.
Next they played ON’S resulting in a win 8-6, with Christison scoring his hat-trick and Hamilton scored 5 tries with great supportive playing and tacking from Brambini-Meadows and Fletcher. The third game they faced another team from ON’S winning 11-9 in a tightly fought game with all players scoring numerous tries between them.
The final game saw a draw against Kettering with Fletcher scoring 4 tries a great pick up from Christison seeing him score from a great opportunity, Hamilton added to her impressive try tally along with a try from Hamilton.
A great morning and some very impressive rugby.

The second half of Menaces played a total of 5 games against Kettering and ON's. Their line up were Josh Tomlinson, Ned Bellamy, Edward Bradnam, Oliver Barbosa. The first game was against Kettering, a close games with good passes and runs from both teams. Scores were Bradnam 3 Bellamy 3 and Tomlinson 2. Final score 8-6 to Harborough. In the second match against Kettering, they demonstrated the strength of the team and the ability to intercept the play, steal the ball and score the tries. Barbosa scored the first of many of the day with an good run down the touch line. Bellamy produced the try of the game with an excellent run the whole of the pitch from a dropped ball from Kettering. Tomlinson was consistently on top form with an impressive 5 tries. Third match was against ON's. This was a resounding 10-3 victory with all player scoring tries. Match 4 was against Kettering and within a few minutes Harborough had scored twice. Try scorers were Bellamy, Bradnam and Tomlinson. 8-5 to Harborough. In the 5th and final game against Kettering, Menaces retained their unbeaten run despite tiring. With great passing by all the players the Menaces were able to score by great team work from Barbosa who passed to Tomlinson to score the try of the game. Barbosa was on fire with a grand total of 5 tries in the match. Bradnam had a try disallowed but this did not stop him from producing excellent tagging and defence during the whole of the match. Bellamy added to his tally by running through the whole of the field to score. Final score 11-6 to Harborough
The Rogues were also at home Playing against Kettering and Old Northamptonians. Rogues consisted of Harry Boucher, Zac Conneely, Joesph Halls, Ellis Hepworth, Thomas Jeffs and Evie Stacey-Smith. On a windy Sunday morning a great opening run from Halls resulted in the first of his many tries. Lots of good team work and passing followed from the Rogues giving opportunities for Hepworth and Stacey-Smith to score along with more from Halls; however they were defeated 7-10. The next match against Kettering again opened with a great Harborough run, this time from Jeffs and another try scored. Further tries followed from Boucher, Hepworth, and Halls, supported with great tagging by Conneely. This was a hard fought game with lots of turnovers and passing but Harborough were again defeated 7-9.

Subsequent matches against other Kettering teams (final score 6-6 and 4-8), and the other Old Northamptonian team (8-10) saw the Rogues playing well as a team with great improvement from all players. Boucher, Hepworth, Jeffs and Halls all scored tries in the final match with the final scores not truly reflecting the effort put in from the players. Halls was awarded the overall Man of the Match trophy for this week.
