Harborough Menaces and Rogues invade Coalville

Under 7's at Coalville
The U7 Menaces and Rogues also travelled to Coalville on a very cold Sunday morning. The Menaces split squads to play against Coalville, the first line up being Callum Jones, William Groves, Theo Jones, Liam Crabb, Max Fletcher and Carys Hamilton. Due to Coalville not being able to field a full team Fletcher played for Coalville scoring 3 tries for them in the first half and T.Jones played for them in the second half racking up another 2 . Despite the bitter cold the Menaces played well with Hamilton, Crabb and Groves scoring tries with great supportive play by C. Jones. Groves gave a very determined performance not only scoring but also great tackling. The result does not reflect the quality of the match at 11-8 to Coalville (but 5 of their 11 scored by MH players!).

Second line-up. Zak Conneely, Ned Bellamy, Oliver Barbosa, Toby Christison and Joshua Brambini-Meadows.
Oliver scored first (the first of his 5 in the game) and this was followed shortly by Joshua receiving the ball from Ned and reaching for the try line. The match was very fast from both teams and the run of play was from both ends. Josh scored again after great defending by the whole team. Zak held the ball for some good runs leading to Toby scoring his first try of the match and he went on to score another later on in the second half. Ned finished with the winning try one minute before the end of play. 11-10

scored by Joshua 3 Ned 1 Oliver 5 Toby 2.

The Rogues lined up first against Coalville, with Harry Slaughter scoring a try from the first play. Some good tagging from Thomas Jeffs and some tidy passing from Evie Stacey-Smith set Harry up for his second try with several more for him following during the match, showing some nifty footwork to get past the Coalville defence. Tries were also scored by Billy Ward, Ellis Hepworth and Joe Halls with the team holding their defensive line well and picking up the ball from the turnovers.

Coalville lost a man towards the end of the first half, so Jeffs moved to play for them allowing all the Rogues to play all the time. Jeffs helped their score line by scoring a couple of tries, but it wasn't enough to change the result, the final score being 12-5 to Market Harborough
