On Sunday Mischiefs under 8s played away at Oundle. The squad comprised: Thomas Bailey, Ethan Beadnall, Roddy Dewar, Ethan Hack, Raf Hodgson, Thomas Kimbell, William Milne, James Parr and Hugh Salveson.
All played a major part in a four games to nil whitewash, everyone being noted on the scoresheet. Game one was close,as the team took some time to get into their stride, winning 7-5. Game 2 was won 8-5.In game 3 they really started to play some very good rugby - with great support play and won 10-4 (notably Ethan Hack crossing 4 times). The last game was against what seemed the strongest hand picked Oundle team and was won 9-8. Try of the day was a superb cut in and change of direction, almost a full scissor move having taken the ball at pace, by Roddy Dewar. It must be stressed though that the tagging pressure defence gets better weekly as well as the handling and the support play. The team hardly gave any turnovers away, on what was a chilly slightly damp morning.
