The battle of Bosworth Field ... an apt description for the playing surface as the Menaces of Market Harborough laid siege to Bosworth's defences once again. Although tag rugby is a less lethal pastime than those that passed before, it was not a day for the faint of heart. Apart from anything else, it was rather chilly. Fortunately no-one will be buried in a car park in Leicester after today's encounter.
The cold and wet conditions made ball handling difficult ... how would we have managed swords and shields ... I digress ... anyway following a slow start the superior play of the visitors saw them victorious 7:4. Ned Bellamy, Ed Bradnum and Max Fletcher each claimed a try, but the spoils of the day belonged to Hal Eastwood and Oliver Barbosa with a brace each. There was great support play from William Groves and Joshua Bambini-Meadows that made it all possible. The Menaces returned home cold, wet but with the smell of victory on their vestments ... which as 7 and 8 year old boys isn't always pleasant! Time to regroup, practice next week then get ready for the next battle ...
