Under 8's retain the trophy

Market Harborough rugby club hosted their annual festival.
The under 8’s A team, consisted of Ed Bradnam, Ned Bellamy, Ned Corry, Ronnie Collis, Hal Eastwood, Harry Slaughter, Max Fletcher, Oliver Barbosa, Thomas Kimble and William Groves.

The squad had to play 4 group matches, the first against Rushden in which the team won 10-3 with some great play and tries from Bradnam, Barbosa, Kimble, Eastwood, 2 for Slaughter with Bellamy adding 4 to the score board.
The second game against Hinckley was a tightly fought match ending in a draw 6-6 with tries from Slaughter, Barbosa Kimble, Collis and 2 for Bradnam.
The third match against BBOB’s saw the team play a great defensive game resulting in turnover balls and Harborough winning 9-1 with tries from Corry, Collis, Bradman, Kimble, 2 for Bellamy and a hatric for Fletcher. The fourth game Harborough had to win against Olney in order to reach the final. It was a great game with the team putting into practice everything they had been taught winning 7-3 with tries from Groves, Corry, 2 from Slaughter and 3 from Eastwood, putting Harborough into the final against Old Northamptonians in a repeat of last year's finale.
The team pulled together, communicated well and secured a half time lead of 2:1. In the second half they stepped up a gear and won 7-2. It was a fantastic game with great defensive play, running lines and tries from, Eastwood, 2 from Slaughter, Bellamy and Corry.
