Hinckley 3rds arrived with a full squad and were soon making the home team defend. Harborough 2nds have made slow starts in recent weeks and this match followed a similar pattern. Sloppy tackling allowed the visitors to gain territorial advantage and keep Harborough under pressure.
Jamie Thorpe exploited some space with a fine break which resulted in full back Harry Durham scoring Harborough's first try. Josh Haynes scored a second try after Harborough attacked from deep inside their own territory.
An injury to scrum half Haynes, meant a number of positional changes; Harry Durham went to 9, Aaron Lyle to full back and the adaptable Lee Butler to centre. Butler is having a fine season and he continued his forward forays with battering breaks from midfield.
With the game always close, it was with some relief that Tom Dyke went over from a close range maul. Tom Dyke and Lee Butler continued to keep Harborough in the game The scoring was completed by Rob Brownlee, who was back at centre after helping out in the back row in previous weeks. Callum Blair converted to make the final score 22-19, which keeps Harborough two points clear at the top of the table
