Harborough were determined from the off against local rivals Lutterworth and after concerted pressure the score came when scrum half Fin Clarke picked up from the back of a ruck and darted through a gap to touch down for a try that he converted. It was then the turn of Aaron Lyle who looked dangerous from the off creating holes in the Lutterworth defence and when he received the ball there was no stopping him as he ran through to touch down. The conversion was missed but on the half hour continued pressure saw Ryan Gibson touch down beneath the posts for a try converted by Fin Clarke bringing the score to 19-0. That was the final score of the first half in which Lutterworth had barely threatened the Harborough line although their defence remained strong.
At the start of the second half Lutterworth upped their game and kept play in the Harborough half. Then from a clearance kick the awkward bounce defeated the 2 Lutterworth defenders falling kindly for the advancing Harborough who released Caolann Fitzpatrick to touch down near the posts for Fergus Clarke, replacing his injured brother, to add the extras.
Lutterworth however bounced back showing they were not just there to make up the numbers and they crossed for 2 tries of their own and with no further scores it left the final score 26-10 to Harborough.
