A game of two halves for Harborough against Broadstreet

It was definitely a game of two halves for Market Harborough on an autumnal day at Northampton Rd. The rain had stopped when the teams took the field. Harborough on Saturday morning were sitting second in the league following a win for Old Scouts the night before.
Harborough scored first when Timmy Waterfield took off like a gazelle to go over for the try. Monty Maule converted. Broadstreet then replied with there own converted try.
Timmy Waterfield then decided that he was not finished and went over again not quite so gazelle like this time. Back came Broadstreet with a converted try. The Visitors were now taking control through their forwards. The pressure was being to take its toll and three penalties took the score to 23-12 to Broadstreet. The question was asked why they did not kick to the corner as they were in the ascendancy upfront.
Some worried alickadoos’ were sitting in the Jack Morris stand at half time.
The second half started in a similar vein as the first half. Sam Blades had played with a back injury manfully throughout the first half. Second team captain Shea Harley today stepping up from duties with the seconds came on . Some solid scrums from the Harborough eight seemed to change the mindset and for the entire second half the Black Cats were on the front foot.
A try for captain Sam Staff converted by Mony Maule took the score to 19-23. Harborough then mounted a massive effort. To take Harborough in front Ollie Stanbridge darted over in the corner.
A supreme second half effort. For a sterling effort in the front row that lifted the team Shea Harley was the alickadoos man of the match. Harborough finished the day back at the top of the table.
Next week the 1stXV are on the road to Old Coventrians
The 2ndXV and Colts are at home the 3rdXV are also in their travels ..
