Harborough in eleven try bonanza across the border in Coventry

Following last weeks close encounter at home against another Coventry team, this week Harborough found their stride from the first whistle.
Playing into the wind the Harborough forwards were up for the battle. Jack Burrows and Jack Digby were driving into the heart of the opposition with great regularity. Tackles were being missed by the hosts and holes were appearing. The first try was inevitable, and Jack Digby drove over open the scoring for the Black cats.
The attacks from Harborough were relentless. Following a massive drive by Jack Burrows the ball made its way to the ever-reliable Monty Maule to go over for the second try. With Monty slotting the conversion the early score was 12-0. Harley Williams then went over for his first try of the afternoon. The scoreline was now 19-0
Back came Harborough again. The final pass went to Jack Digby who dived over the line and managed to get the ball down while sliding on his back. Reminiscent of a Walrus sliding up onto the beach at Hunstanton.
A nicely worked try for Harley Williams took the score to 31-0. The home side were still up for the challenge. The speedy winger after the ball moved through a number of hands went over in the corner.
With halftime approaching Harborough had one more attack. A beautifully timed and weighted pass from the ever-reliable captain Monty Maule sent Sam Staff over for the final score of the half. Monty converted from in front of the post. A very healthy score of 38-5 to Harborough as everyone took a breath.
The second half followed in a similar vain to the first. Tom Herdman playing out of position wearing the number 11 shirt was put over in the corner. Will Marriott was next on the conveyer to put his name on the score sheet. Ollie Stanbridge covering this week at scrum half did not let the side down and went over the whitewash for a very deserved try. The gazelle from last week, Timmy Waterfield, also continued his scoring streak.
An all-round satisfying performance from the Black cats. Notable performances from Jacob Cowley making his 1stXV debut and Ollie Stanbridge stepping up to scrum half.

Final score Old Coventrians 10-71 Market Harborough

Harborough moved back to the top of the table. Next week Oadby Wyggs are the visitors to Northampton Road. It's also the Presidents Christmas lunch so a large crowd is expected to cheer on the lads. The fixture earlier in the season ended 38-38 and the Black cats will be looking to continue their fine form of recent weeks.

Hope to see you there.
