Harborough Colts travelled to Hinckley for their last league fixture of the season (before any playoffs etc.).
Not for the first time against Hinckley this year, they weren't at their best and having kicked straight to touch from the start and lost the resulting scrum, they found themselves 5:0 down within the first couple of minutes.
However it wasn't long before they were level, the rarely used phrase 'Harley in the corner' now describing the equalising try with Kai in the unlikely wide position at the right time!
Again Hinckley hit back and with missed tackles in the middle kicked over the defence and won the chase to restore their lead, 10:5.
A brace of Harborough penalties however saw the lead change hands, George Williams slotting them comfortably 10:11 and causing a search for more match balls.
Harborough then turned defence into attack. A Williams take on a George Ford tricky spiral bomb clearance kick from the Harborough 22 was fumbled by the Hinckley defence, it bounced back into the Harborough half and into the grateful hands of the sprinting Charlie Smith who having taken the catch at pace dodged the remaining defenders and outsprinted them to score, converted by Williams 10:18
From an attacking scrum on the hosts' 5m line, Harley Williams playing at 8 picked up and powered through to score Harborough's third try, the half finishing soon after at 10:23.
The second half ended honours even with a try for each team, Ali Kamel scoring first for Harborough and Hinckley replying with their trademark maul with the game ending 15:28
It wasn't a thing of beauty, Harborough were well below par but even so they end the league unbeaten having won every single fixture.
As the county is split into two leagues, they now playoff home and away against Syston who finished second in the other league.
