Covid denied this group of lads their U14s final in 2020 and their U15 competition in its entirety in 2020/21. They harnessed all that frustration in their performance today in the sunny but blustery conditions at Oval Park, home of Oadby Wyggs.
It didn't take long for Harborough to show their strength, a typical Bradley run up the left wing being taken over by Docherty for the opening score in the corner, 5:0
A similar move soon followed up the opposite flank, with Hepworth scoring in the right corner and with Williams adding the extras 12:0
Bosworth hit back though and although only just in the Harborough half, a confident penalty kick saw them reduce the deficit, 12:3.
However from that point forwards, Harborough began to dominate and tries for Smith and a brace for Bradley saw them leading 27:3 at half time.
The subs came on but more of the same followed. Harker extended the lead to 32:3 with a strong run up the left wing to score in the corner.
Bosworth pulled one back, 32:10, before Docherty got his second of the day, 39:10.
Another strong Harker run into the corner resulted in a scramble for the loose ball but Hepworth was able to get the important touch 44:10.
Further Harborough pressure then saw Fletcher on hand to score from close range, 51:10
Final points of the day were scored and converted by Williams with the ref calling time at 58:10.
This team, from U7 to U16 have never lost a match in the LRU county cup, a fantastic record kept intact today at Oadby Wyggs and we congratulate them and their dedicated coaching team on their achievements.
