MHRUFC U14's v Lichfield

The U14's got off to winning ways with a convincing victory. The visitors lacked the strength in depth that the home team could call upon ... although they did draw upon the Harborough substitutes who then in the best spirit of the game played their hearts out for the opposition.
The debut was played in the sunshine that lit up pitch 1, with the spectators treated to seats and something to lean against! It wasn't long before George Williams waltzed through several defenders to give himself a run in from just inside the opposition half, scoring under the posts then converting it himself.
It was largely one way traffic, players getting used to lineouts and contested scrums but Harborough coming out on top and further tries were scored by Harley Williams, another for George Williams, a hat-trick for Fabian Powell and one for Charlie Smith on his debut.
With the help of their substitutes, Lichfield fought back with a brace of tries.
A game played in the right spirit in front of a crowd who have forgotten how cold and miserable it will soon become as they basked in the late summer sunshine, watching the home team win.
